Clay Eubanks, President, Takeuchi-US
This year marks the 35th anniversary for Takeuchi US. We are proud of the hard work and innovation that can only come from one of the world leaders in compact construction equipment. We are honored to be a part of the Takeuchi heritage and look forward to continuing in the advancement of equipment technology, and in supporting our stakeholders both here, and abroad.
New Equipment
We kicked the year off with the announcement of six new Tier 4 Final machines at CONEXPO—the TL8 track loader, the TW80 wheel loader, and four new excavators. The announcement of the new TB216, TB240, TB260 and TB290 Compact Excavators signaled the launch of a brand new excavator platform, all featuring new EPA Tier 4 Final engines, redesigned sleek body profiles for improved visibility and service access, improved bucket breakout forces and hydraulic performance, precision pilot controls, the most comfortable cabs on the market, advanced multi-function electronic displays and many other innovative features.
We’ve recently added the new TB230 to this platform as well. Sharing the same design philosophy as the other new excavators, The TB230 not only meets EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards, it also delivers increased performance, greater working range, improved operator comfort, and improved overall serviceability.
With an operating weight of 6,607 pounds, and a bucket breakout force of 6,471 pounds, the first thing you notice about the TB230 is the sleek redesigned body and exterior, which offers better visibility and improved service access, and houses a 24.4 HP Final Tier 4 computer-controlled Yanmar engine. The well-appointed operator’s station includes a multi-function monitor, function switches, electronic throttle control and Takeuchi’s precision pilot controls with a proportional slide switch to control auxiliary hydraulic functions.
As you can see, we’ve been working hard to both meet and exceed the ever-evolving needs of today’s contractors, and we have many more new models on the horizon.
New People
Your people are always your greatest assets in any organization, and we know that putting the right people in place is the best way to get the job done right. With the development of so many new products, we knew that we needed someone to lead the charge so we’ve recently appointed our National Product and Training Manager David Steger to lead our growing product management team. David has been a part of our organization for many years and we have the utmost faith and confidence in his abilities and in his leadership.
And speaking of our growing product team, we have also brought on a new Product Specialist—Jonathan Martinez. Johnny, as he likes to be called, is fluent in Spanish, and will be responsible for both technical and long-term development of new and existing product lines, as well as the promotion and development of these products with new and existing dealers. We are very excited to have him on board.
As we celebrate our 35th year in business in the US with new machines and new people—these are truly exciting times. Not just for all of us here at Takeuchi-US, but for the industries that we serve as well. It’s summertime, and I know that we’re all busy, so be safe out there. And as always, thank you for allowing Takeuchi to be a part of your success.
