At Takeuchi, we believe that investing in our communities pays back numerous dividends, and we’re demonstrating that by helping young people get a head start on their future careers.
Ian Geiple is a senior at Jackson County High School in Hoschton, Georgia, participating in the school’s work-release program. For the past year, Ian has also been working as a production technician apprentice in the Service Department at Takeuchi’s facility in Pendergrass, Georgia.
In his role, Ian shadows the production technicians in the service department and assists them with modifying and repairing machines and installing thumb kits on machines prior to shipment. Ian has also learned how to provide general support for service and warranty issues, as well as troubleshooting and modifying in-house machines.
“Ian’s learned a lot and has become an asset to our department,” said Joseph Huling, national sales and training manager for Takeuchi-US. “It’s gratifying to see how far he’s come and all the knowledge he’ll be able to take into his future career.”
Meanwhile, our South Carolina facility has partnered with Swofford Career Center, a multi-district career center serving Spartanburg School Districts 1 & 2. Swofford Career Center works with local employers to find learning opportunities for students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades, helping the students earn college credits and setting them up for future success.

Takeuchi’s Human Resources team in South Carolina hosted an information session for Swofford students in mid-February. Hayden Hull, a senior from Boiling Springs High School, connected with Takeuchi during that session. After touring our facility, he was immediately drawn to the world of manufacturing and the positive work environment. His enthusiasm was evident—he asked for business cards from our HR team and director right after the tour.
Hayden brings valuable experience from Swofford’s Auto Body Collision program and is eager to expand his skills in Takeuchi’s Paint Department. He officially joined our team on March 19, and he’s looking forward to taking on new challenges to grow his expertise. His goal is to become a direct hire at Takeuchi upon graduation.
“By collaborating with Jackson County High School and the Swofford Career Center, we’re able to help the next generation of workers get hands-on experience,” said Jeff Stewart, president of Takeuchi-US. “We also benefit because these students can quickly move into open positions at our facilities after completing their educations. It’s truly benefits everyone in the long run.”
