Since opening their doors in 1996, Theros Equipment Rentals has steadily grown into one of the top rental companies in the United States – a perennial top 100 rental company in the nation, to be exact. Built on strong relationships, loyalty, hard work and only the best brands of equipment, Theros has certainly made a name for themselves over the past 18 years.
Headquartered in Warrenton, Va. with three additional locations serving the greater Washington DC and northern Virginia metro markets, Theros Equipment Rentals was established when Tod Theros sold his rental business, McLean Rentals to Sunbelt Rentals. Tod and his son Joel then went into business together, creating a one-stop rental shop for contractors that rent everything from large equipment all the way down to compact equipment, hand-tools and everything in between. Joel eventually bought his father’s shares in the business and has served as the company president for the last several years.
Theros Equipment serves a wide range of contractors in excavation, utility, road and bridge, concrete, framing, masonry, electricians, plumbers, demolition, residential, and even homeowners – anyone that needs to rent quality equipment.
Takeuchi track loaders are an important part of their rental fleet, and the company has seen a lot of success with the brand. Rental companies need a product that is reliable on the jobsite, something they can rent out day-in and day-out and feel comfortable knowing that it won’t break down. The durability, performance, and power built into each model is what drew them towards the Takeuchi lineup.
They stopped selling equipment in 2008 so they could focus completely on being 100 percent rental, which led them to their local Takeuchi dealer, White Oak Equipment, who has supported them ever since. Located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, White Oak equipment has served the construction industry for many years, and specializes in new and used backhoes, dozers, wheel loaders, crawler excavators, mini-excavators, forklifts, rollers, crawler loaders, motor graders, trailers and skid steers.
“Theros Equipment used to sell the Mustang track loader line back when it was an OEM product of Takeuchi, and Theros was the number one dealer in the country for several years with that line,” Joel said. “We have had limited success with other brands of compact track loaders, but have a solid preference for Takeuchi due to its heavy-duty design built on track—instead of a rubber-tire frame turned into a track loader like some other brands.”
“The Takeuchi fleet at Theros Equipment Rentals withstands the heavy-duty demands of day-to-day rental customers like no other. It’s the best track loader on the market,” Joel continued. “I hope they don’t change anything, and keep building them just the way they are.”
