Simply said, Takeuchi was created to make people’s lives easier. When Mr. Takeuchi created the world’s first 360-degree excavator, he wanted to help operators work more efficiently. When he created the first track loader, it was to help maintain productivity while on any job site and not let a little mud halt the work. Today, Takeuchi is still dedicated to helping our end users do their jobs better, faster and easier. We strive to build top-notch construction equipment that will not let our customers down when profits matter. And while we care about our equipment, we care about our employees even more.
We believe that every employee plays an important role in our company’s success. In fact, this year we gave employees their own individually numbered challenge coin. This concept represents how every member of the Takeuchi team is an essential piece of our puzzle. For 2022, “Your Legacy Matters” is imprinted on each coin along with Takeuchi’s core principles of “Creation, Challenge, and Cooperation.”
At Takeuchi, we encourage our employees to not only create a lasting legacy at work, but also in their own communities. Over the past year, Takeuchi employees have literally stepped up to the plate to help serve our local community here in Pendergrass, Georgia and the surrounding area. From food drives to toy drives, our employees have poured out their support to help improve the lives of those around us. In fact, when one of our own employees fell upon difficult times, our team once again rose to the occasion.
Jeff Bailey was a beloved member of Takeuchi’s IT department for almost 20 years. “JB,” as many knew him, was always around to help you with a spreadsheet or tell you a slightly risqué joke. JB was always reliable, willing to help anyone with anything. Jeff was diagnosed with lymphoma in the spring of 2020. After almost two years, his battle ended. While we were devastated by this loss, we realized the legacy JB had created outside of our four walls was equally important.
Since our beginnings in 1979, the Takeuchi team has lost many beloved employees, each of whom helped us move forward as a company but also left behind unique personal legacies for their communities, families and friendships.
As Takeuchi looks to the future, we know that solidifying our legacy in the marketplace through quality, safety, and customer satisfaction is important. We encourage each of our employees to build their own legacy. Being a leader in the compact construction industry, Takeuchi knows the importance of building upon a solid foundation. Whether it’s at work, at home or in the community, each Takeuchi representative has the opportunity to make a positive impact. In short, doing what’s right is the Takeuchi way.
Takeuchi continues to grow and evolve with industry-leading innovation. While eagerly meeting the challenges of the future, Takeuchi would also like to pause and remember those employees who have passed on but are still important cornerstones of our company’s legacy.
