Trade Show Season Is Upon Us

Clay EubankHere at Takeuchi, we are revving up for trade show season with The Rental Show in late February and CONEXPO-CON/AGG in early March. It will be a whirlwind with these shows happening back to back, but we always look forward to meeting with many of our rental and construction dealers and customers.

Another reason we are looking forward to these shows is the current state of the rental and construction industries. Both are showing steady growth with a stable landscape. Construction is at a high level and all signs point to continued growth. This is encouraging for everyone involved and should have a positive impact on both of these trade shows.

Trade shows are vital to our business. From networking to showcasing our machines, trade shows present one of the few opportunities to connect with many dealers and customers in one place. Here is a preview of what Takeuchi will feature at these shows, as well as general industry projections.

The Rental Show, Booth No. 4569

The rental industry is a large part of our business here at Takeuchi, so The Rental Show is the premier trade show for us each and every year.

We invest a great deal into this show, but we also receive so much in return. In fact, it is one of the few shows where manufacturers are allowed to sell to customers from the show floor.

Last year in Atlanta, The Rental Show’s attendance increased for the seventh consecutive year, a milestone the show has not reached since the 1970s. It also was the highest attendance in 10 years. The show exceeded expectations for us, and we expect to have similar results this year.

Show attendance is a good gauge of how the industry is performing and The Rental Show should be well attended again this year. The latest forecast remains positive as the American Rental Association projects construction and industrial equipment rental revenue in the U.S. to reach $48.9 billion in 2017, and then grow at an average annual rate of 4.3 percent over the forecast, topping $56 billion in 2020.

The Rental Show will be in Orlando, Fla., from Feb. 26 to March 1. Visit us at booth No. 4569, where we will feature seven machines including our brand new TL10V2 vertical lift track loader and TB216H hybrid compact excavator.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG, Booth No. C20753 (Central Hall)

It is interesting to see just how far our economy has come since the previous CONEXPO in 2014 when the market was just finding its footing. Despite some market uncertainty three years ago, the show still achieved its second-highest attendance in history with nearly 130,000 attendees. With construction spending increasing, this year’s CONEXPO should prove to be even better than the last.

Recently, the Associated General Contractors of America reported that construction spending hit a 10-year high in November with monthly and year-over-year gains in both public and private sectors. This is good news leading up to the big show.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG will be in Las Vegas from March 7-11. We will bring a good portion of our lineup to our booth No. C20753, with 12 different models on display.

New Products to Introduce

Our two latest machines, the TL10V2 and TB216H will be the highlight of our trade show season. These models are excellent examples of our continued product improvement to best fit the needs of our customers.

The TL10V2 follows in the footsteps of the TL12V2, which we introduced last year at The Rental Show. The TL12V2 is the largest vertical lift track loader in the industry and recently won new product awards from both Compact Equipment magazine and Construction Equipment magazine. We are just as excited about the TL10V2, which has already garnered a positive response in the marketplace. The machine is our midsize vertical loader and can be utilized in several applications, including landscaping and hardscaping with a tread design that provides maximum flotation.

The TB216H is the first hybrid dual-powered model in our lineup. The machine features both an electric motor and diesel engine with its own pump group to power the machine’s hydraulics. The most unique feature of the TB216H is that machine performance is consistent regardless of the power source.

Are you headed to Orlando for The Rental Show or Las Vegas for CONEXPO? Make sure to put Takeuchi on your list and check out our new models. We look forward to seeing you at the shows.
